Italian flavour in the heart of the Romanesque
The abundant aromas and flavours of the Mediterranean are brought together in Italian cuisine, which boasts a rich, traditional character handed down over generations. From the simplest pasta, such as macaroni, lasagne, fettuccini and spaghetti, to fresh stuffed pasta such as gnocchi, ravioli and tortellini, accompanied by traditional sauces such as Bolognese, quattro formaggi, carbonara and Neapolitan; in addition to fish, risotto, salami and meat dishes such as ossobuco and bistecca a la fiorentina. Neapolitan pizza, which is popular all over the world and has an infinite number of variants, is the only dish of its kind that has been granted Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status by the European Union, in collaboration with the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (“True Neapolitan Pizza Association”).
